Yorkie Health Testing
Our breeding program puts health first in the list of traits we desire in our puppies. Our second highest desired quality is a good temperment, and next is conformation. All of our Yorkies are screened before breeding. We screen in particular for Patellar Luxation and Legg-Calve-Perthes disease. All of our Yorkies undergo annual physical examinations and periodic veterinary teeth cleaning.
We have just been given our CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) numbers for our Yorkies. As of right now, there are only 23 Yorkies that have CHIC numbers ( see the list here). CHIC numbers for Yorkshire Terriers require CERF examination and OFA database sumbission as well as permanent identification. For more information, please contact us.
