About 2 weeks ago we had a family surrender their Yorkies to us, Lilo and Stitch. They were born July 1 2002 and are neutered. I have their breeder info, but nothing on parents and no registration papers, etc. I haven't yet attempted to contact the breeder. From a simple internet search, it looks like they originally came from this woman: http://www.yorkiesplus.com They are UTD on shots.
Anyway, Lilo and Stitch had potty training issues, which is why their family needed to surrender them. I am fostering them now, but I think it is safe to say it is okay to start looking for a home for them. They have done GREAT with potty training here with us (though someone is home 24 hours a day and they can go in and out of the house in to the fenced back yard as they please). We haven't had an accident since the first day they came home with us. We have also been working on walking on a lead and they are doing very well.
They are currently on medication for chronic earmites (which we are treating for another 3 weeks). Lilo has scarring from a previous hematoma on his right ear - it causes him no issues and will not require surgery. Stitch has a cyst on his left ear that we have not yet determined the origin of, but it causes him no problems and we will get that checked out again at his next appointment. They are both in the 9 - 10 pound range (Lilo is taller, but Stitch is fatter).
They are EXTREMELY well behaved! They are VERY sweet and quite energetic. They love to play, like to cuddle, love to be held, are good with kids, cats, and other dogs. They are sweet as can be and would do just great with any family that will love and care for them.
I will not separate them. They HAVE to go to a new home together. I would prefer to place them in a home where someone is home all the time, or at least where they would have limited time alone. Also, would obviously prefer a home with a fenced yard.

It is sad news, but Stitch needs surgery on his hip. He has been at the vet since yesterday - he had been limping and we needed to find out what was going on. We just heard from the vet that his hip ball is out of socket and will not go back in. We are discussing options with the vet, but it appears that the best course of action is surgery to remove the ball. The costs are going to be much more than we had anticipated, so any assistance or donations would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate to help us pay for Stitch's bills, please use the donate button to donate through PayPal.
Please help in any way you can! We need a lot of love, hugs, and money right now. :)
New Update
Just got back from meeting with the vet - Stitch is home until Friday when he will go in for surgery and stay the weekend and will come back home on Monday. The procedure is called a Femoral Head and Neck Ostectomy. The good news is, our vet expects Stitch to make a fabulous recovery and the total cost for the surgery and medications / x-rays, etc will be under $1,000!
We are looking at quite a long recovery process with Stitch, at least 3 months. So, he will certainly be staying with us for a while. However, we are considering letting Lilo go to a new home by himself.

Stitch is back home! His surgery went very well! He is now confined to an exercise pen for a while so he can't move much so his leg can begin to heal.

Stitch is doing very well. He is starting to put a little pressure on his leg, and it is healing very well. He is out of his exercise pen for most of the day. He is doing so great, and we are so proud of our brave little man!
We are still thinking about placing Lilo and Stitch in different homes. If you are interested in adopting Lilo, please email us!

For those of you who hadn't read, Lilo went to what we thought was his forever home in early June. Today we found out that he will be coming back to us. While we are excited that we get to see him again, we are sad that things did not work out with his new family. It appears that Lilo is very overprotective and needs more attention than any of us expected. So, we will soon be looking for a new family for Lilo, but this time one with no other pets.
Stitch is Home!
